Welcome to the Team

The Postgraduate Education Centre provides the infrastructure and support to facilitate the education, training and continuing development of postgraduate professionals in hospital medicine, general practice and dentistry. The PGEC also has an active role in planning education and encouraging multidisciplinary learning and teaching across the hospital. Much of the centre's work is to support medical education and this includes all Foundation Year teaching programmes for the new resident doctors. Teaching programmes are also in place for the MRCP curriculum and general medical meetings. The centre also hosts numerous Specialist Registrar regional teaching meetings for various specialties. Many specialties within the Trust use the facilities for departmental teaching.

We are responsible for:

• Undergraduates: Imperial College London, St Georges, Brighton and Sussex, and University of Surrey
• Foundation Training Programme
• General Practice Training Programme 
• Core and Higher Specialty Training
• Provision of Education Faculty Development
• Administration of Study Leave for Consultants, Locally Employed Doctors, Doctors and Dentists in Training.

We deliver a wide range of teaching programme as well as Regional Training Days to ensure that Doctors and Dentists are equipped with the skills to deliver excellent patient care.
